Buying An Investment Property In Toronto

Can you tell us how you first met Kim and about your initial experiences?

When I mentioned I was interested in buying a property in Toronto and was currently looking for an agent, Kim came highly recommended by a client of mine. After contacting Kim by phone we arranged to meet at her office. I felt immediately at ease, Kim had listened carefully to what I said I was looking for and we began to look at properties on-line as Kim explained the current market trends in Toronto to me.

What was it like when you first started looking at properties with Kim? What were you most interested and how did Kim help you narrow down your choices?

We actually went out and looked at a number of listings that same afternoon. I remember being very impressed with her knowledge of the market as well as her knowledge of the home construction. She was very forthcoming with information about the properties we were looking at, and showed me things both positive and negative about each house we saw. Location became my biggest focus, as well as price. I wanted a property that would enable me to gain some quick equity by doing some renovation and upgrading. After three or four tours of available listings, I was ready to make a choice.

Once you found a home that you were interested in, how did you proceed and what aid did Kim provide?

Once we had decided to make an offer on a house, Kim sent me information on comparable properties that had recently sold in the same area. This was extremely helpful in determining what price we would come in at. She also explained various issues that were common in this part of Toronto so that we could decide if we wanted to make the sale conditional on various inspections. I felt that Kim was always protecting our best interests.

Tell us about how your negotiations went once you found a home you wanted. What assistance did Kim give you throughout this process?

Kim helped us put together a very fair offer. She was prompt in presenting it and she negotiated on our behalf to get us the house at a price we were delighted with.

How did everything go once you closed the deal? Also, how have you been enjoying your new home?

Everything has gone very smoothly! Kim was able to give us a list of professionals: lawyers for us to chose from who specialize in real estate transactions as well as the names of other service providers that we will need for the renovations we're planning. We're looking forward to taking possession of our new house in just two more weeks.! Kim was great to work with and I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone buying or selling a home. I feel that Kim has become much more that a REALTOR to me - she has become a friend.
