Can you tell us how you first met Kim and about your initial experiences?
We met Kim Kehoe while she was holding an open house. We were at the early stages of going to many open houses to get a lay of the land. We had not settled on an agent yet, in spite of having many recommendations and contacts. Kim impressed us as being relaxed and knowledgeable, there was no hard sell, uncomfortable questions, or an agent shadowing us around the house. Her friendly informed manner made her an easy choice for us.
What was it like when you first started looking at properties with Kim? What were you most interested and how did Kim help you narrow down your choices?
Kim's approach is more about guiding than telling her clients what to do. At first we were juggling a lot of variables and did not have a clear picture of what we wanted, so she really assisted us in developing clarity about the kind of home we truly wanted for our family. Buying a house is a complicated process that involves our dreams, different values, decision making styles, relationship struggles, etc. I think Kim was able to handily negotiate these dynamics and be a great advocate for us.
Once you found a home that you were interested in, how did you proceed and what aid did Kim provide?
Research, research, research. Kim flooded us with research on the house - past sells, the area, our street, the housing market, relevant information on financing, etc. Her knowledge, work ethic and commitment is unparalleled. She came with us to the open house, booked individual viewings, had instant reputable inspectors close at hand in order to help us make an informed choice.
Tell us about how your negotiations went once you found a home you wanted. What assistance did Kim give you throughout this process?
Kim was able to find the "real" price. I felt she was operating in our best interests, and was never trying to oversell the house to make the deal. Given her experience she was able to help us with every step of the negotiation, including: establishing our bottom lines, understanding our own finances, timing, and the dynamics of the deal. She was happy to walk away with us if the price was not right. Because of her organization and knowledge of the market, she is very clear about what a good deal is and how to quickly grab an opportunity.
How did everything go once you closed the deal? Also, how have you been enjoying your new home?
The sale went as smoothly as possible. We closed the deal in 8 weeks, got the price and financing we wanted. Its been a year and a half in our new house and I am still wondering how it all happened so smoothly. After living in an apartment for years and years, we continue to walk around the house in amazement. To have a place to entertain our family and friends makes it very special.
