Can you tell us how you first met Kim and about your initial experiences?
One summer day, my boyfriend and I were out for a walk in Roncesvalles village when we happened upon an open house. Having just put down a deposit on a condo in a different area, we thought we'd check it out just for fun. Less than an hour later we're calling the only real estate agent we could think of - Kim Kehoe, to put in an offer. We were outbid by a long shot, as predicted by Kim's assistant, Tracy, but the experience got us excited enough to get our condo deposit back and start looking for a house!
What was it like when you first started looking at properties with Kim? What were you most interested and how did Kim help you narrow down your choices?
We were very impressed by Kim's knolwedge of the area, and how much she knew about old houses - she was up front about what to expect. We weren't sure what type of house we were looking for at first but based on where we wanted to live and our budget, Kim started sending us relevant listings and showing us various properties.
Once you found a home that you were interested in, how did you proceed and what aid did Kim provide?
With prospecitve properites, we would discuss the price and value of the house, the number of offers that would be presented and how much we wanted to live there to come up with our number. Kim always had a good idea of how much the house was going to go for and would advise us accordingly.
Tell us about how your negotiations went once you found a home you wanted. What assistance did Kim give you throughout this process?
Our negotiations went smoothly. There was one counter offer and we ended up with a number that we were comfortable with and a house that we have no regrets about. Kim did the negotiating on our behalf - we knew we were in good hands. She facilitated the process, there was never any pressure.
How did everything go once you closed the deal? Also, how have you been enjoying your new home?
It was an exciting time. A bit stressful because it was our first house and a huge committment. It needed quite a bit of work - which we knew going in. Stress & excitement - to be completely honest. Today, we are settled, and have made significant progress with our renos. We have rooms we can live in! And a house that's ours.
