Can you tell us how you first met Kim and about your initial experiences?
My mother, a real estate agent in Ottawa, phoned a branch manager in Toronto and asked for someone friendly and reliable to help my wife and I and find our first home. He referred us to Kim and we couldn't have been happier. From the beginning we were really impressed with her, and her assistant Tracey's work ethic. Phone calls and emails were always promptly returned, and appointments for showings seemed to be available whenever we wanted. We were sure we weren't her only client, but Kim and her team made us feel as though we were.
What was it like when you first started looking at properties with Kim? What were you most interested and how did Kim help you narrow down your choices?
At the time, the Toronto market was very hot and as first time buyers we were on a limited budget. I guess we fit into the "we'll take whatever we can get" category. At least that was our mindset starting out. Kim helped us avoid some common pitfalls during what can be a stressful and emotional time. Kim wouldn't let us convince ourselves to move to an area we didn't really like, or buy the wrong house "just to get something". Due to Kim's sound advice (and a little patience on our part), we ended up with a home that we absolutely love.
Once you found a home that you were interested in, how did you proceed and what aid did Kim provide?
We had been through, and lost, more bidding wars than I care to remember. Thankfully Kim had helped us avoid paying way too much for all the wrong houses. Eventually we found a house we loved that wasn't holding off on offers, so Kim and her team acted swiftly. We contacted the seller immediately, faxed the offer, delivered the deposit, even had an inspection, all by the next afternoon. As my wife and I were signing the papers (less than 24hrs after our first visit), three other young couples came by to see the house. I had to tell them it was already sold - I didn't tell them we got it for ten thousand dollars under asking.
How did everything go once you closed the deal? Also, how have you been enjoying your new home?
After we closed it felt as though a huge weight had been lifted from our shoulders. In the midst of an extremely competitive market with a limited budget we finally owned a truly great home. Working with Kim and her associates was an absolute pleasure through and through. I recommend Kim to all of my friends and really look forward to working with her again.
