Selling Our Parkdale Victorian

Can you tell us how you first met Kim and about your initial experiences?

I contacted Kim a couple of years ago when we were thinking of selling. We changed our mind at that time, but Kim stayed in contact, keeping us informed of sales in our area. I found this information very useful when it came time to sell our house.

What did Kim do to guide you in your market research when you were setting a price? How did you come to your final decision?

We discussed a range of prices to list our house at to get a good sale. Being in Parkdale we needed a price that would attract people to come and see the house. We were both confident that when people saw the the house and our income property they would be interested.

How did you prepare your house for showing and/or being photographed? What are your thoughts on how the open houses were handled?

We put a lot of work into making our house look its best for the showings. We cleared out the clutter and finally got to all those little jobs that needed doing. Kim gave good advice about what to clear out and what to leave. I appreciated that she did not recommend making our house look like no one lived there. We showed our house as a neater version of the family home that it is! I also really appreciated that Kim hosted all our open houses herself. She did not send someone from her office to greet potential buyers. I feel this is very important.

How do you feel Kim handled the negotiation? How did the negotiations go and what had been your expectations?

I feel Kim handled the whole process excellently. We achieved a price much higher than our expectations and Kim's commitment was a big part of that. We had an excellent property to sell and received a lot of attention because of the house, but also because of the professional way Kim presented our property and the negotiations.

How did the final closing of the sale go? Looking back is there anything you would have done differently? Is there anything that Kim did that you particularly appreciated?

We could not be happier with the price we got for our house and the new home we purchased with Kim. Buying and selling a house is a huge decision and a very emotional time for all involved. I believe Kim really understands and respects this. The thing I most appreciated most about our experience with Kim was that she works hard and has her clients best interests at heart. I have heard stories of lazy real estate agents and I couldn't imagine anything worse when you are going through this. You need an agent who is going to do everything they can to get you top dollar for your house and find you a home you will be happy in for many years to come.
